Garmin Connect IQ App Privacy Policy

Saturday Five

This policy explains how the Saturday Five running companion handles information on your Garmin watch.

Developer: Matthew Way / Matt Way Media  |  Effective date: 16 October 2026

Information used on your watch

While the app is open, it uses the watch’s GPS location to estimate your proximity to an event using a small event-location list stored in the app. Location is processed on the watch to support that feature; it is not sent to Matt Way Media.

Running activity

When you start a run, the app records a running activity using Garmin’s Activity Recording API. The activity can include GPS track, time, distance and heart-rate data made available by your watch. It also includes the finish position and run number you enter. The activity is saved on the watch and may be sent to Garmin Connect when the watch syncs, depending on your Garmin account and sync settings. Garmin handles information received by Garmin Connect under Garmin’s own privacy policy.

Barcode and profile settings

Your name, A-number, optional additional athlete barcode details and completed-event count are stored in the app’s settings on your watch. They are used to display your barcode and run information. The app does not send these settings to Matt Way Media.

Developer collection and deletion

Saturday Five does not use a Matt Way Media account, developer-operated server, advertising tracker or analytics service. Matt Way Media does not receive the location, activity, barcode settings or run details through this app. You can remove locally stored app settings by removing the app or clearing its settings. Activities already saved to your watch or synced to Garmin Connect are managed separately through Garmin.
